Counsellor Directory
This innovative membership service serves to promote business information about your counselling practice, specialized services and skills as well as the ability to upload a profile picture and business logo. With futurist trends heading towards a generation that seeks information online as well as a specific set of skills, knowledge and experience, the CPCA believes this directory will provide a competitive edge for marketing our member's counselling services across Canada to the public, insurance providers, EAP contractors and government for verification of your legitimacy. All members who are in "good standing" will be approved to list their contact information in the directory on an annual basis. It allows our members to login to their directory listing once it has been approved and make any changes to their contact information.

Description
Welcome to my profile,
I work with people who have experienced complex PTSD symptoms, grief, or an overall sense of not fitting or belonging in the world. Often, people are unaware of how traumatic events have impacted their nervous system. They can be stuck in survival mode without knowing this could be the cause of their struggles. I teach people to understand the connection between their mind and their nervous system. Then, through Psychoeducation, I introduce new coping skills that can have powerful, transformative, and lasting results.
My approach is gentle, compassionate, and intuitive. I provide a safe, non-judgmental connection to build a therapeutic alliance with you. I will apply therapies such as DBT, CBT, and somatic therapy, among other modalities that have proven to be beneficial for people experiencing C-PTSD, BPD, anxiety, depression, intense emotions, suicide ideation or deep shame.
Knowing where to start and what to expect during your first session can help you feel more comfortable and informed. In your first session, I ask questions to get to know you better and what you want to achieve or overcome. I'll ask some questions about your history, including your childhood, education, relationships (family, romantic relationships, friends), current living situation, and whether you have tried therapy before; what worked and what didn't work for you?
From here, we will review the intake agreements so that you fully understand my service and what to expect. I then develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
I encourage you to ask me any questions during this first meeting to help you feel more comfortable with your decision to begin therapy.
I offer a 15 to 30 minute complimentary Discovery meeting to help us decide if we are a good fit before initiating the first intake meeting.
